  • Funny story with this my mom bought this for me when I was very young while we were on vacation Well, I lost it in the hotel and never found it XDThat s probably for the best, because the cover really creeps me out

  • I really liked this book because it was non fiction and I learned a lot about mummies and pyramids I also learned about where mummies were buried It made Mummies in the Morning make a lot sense.

  • This book was a good introduction to ancient Egypt for my five year old It was a bit awkward having to discuss the bits about death and mummification, but there s no real alternative way to discuss mummies.

  • This series, along with the Who Was books are some of my favorite Non fiction books to read with my daughter.

  • I enjoyed this book because I love Pyramids I did not like this book because if I were in Ancient Egypt I would have to build my house out of mud bricks.

  • This was a good fact tracker The only thing that would be better as with all the books in this series would be to have it in color.

  • The thrilling book named Mummies and Pyramids is an amazing book that describes how the ancient Egyptians did to the important people that died and all about their culture The mummy is a preserved dead body that the Egyptians used to do to all dead bodies The pyramids were built as tombs for the Egyptians kings and the pharoahs It was the largest thing built before and one of them in Giza is a legendary wonder in the world The Egyptians had the belief of the afterlife It means that after the hum [...]

  • I think that how mummies are made is weird but also cool The way that they re made is the priest of the royal kingdom will take the dead body and take it to their little workshop space and preserve it by putting some salts and spices on it and taking all of its organs out except for the heart, and one really weird thing that they do is they take the brain and they throw it away The don t know what the brain is or what the brain does.If you don t know, the brain is the most important part in the [...]

  • GenesisJack and annie are writeing a lot of notes about mummies and pyramids Also they are discovering new things when they go to egypt Also on the first page people made pyramids and mummies too Did you know it is impossible for one little person to build a gaint pyramid Anyways I would like to give this book ten stars if I could but I would live it five stars I want to recommend this book to a dear friend named Jadlynn because this book has some things you can learn about like mummies, pyramid [...]

  • Who knew that an awful fiction series could redeem itself through its non fiction outlet This book is the Research Guide associated with the Magic Tree House book Mummies in the Morning which I will never read My 8 year old daughter has fallen in love with Egypt yes and brought home this book from her school library She held it behind her back and told me that she had a book about something that she was really, really interested in Then my 5 year old son chimed in with, It s mummies, and she sai [...]

  • I have a friend who despises the Magic Tree House series because she feels it confuses the real with the fictional I m not sure what she d think of these nonfictional additions to the Magic Tree House world I personally haven t read the fiction series, but I did find a couple of items that could be misinterpreted, or glossed over For example, when discussing tomb robbers, the authors note that the wall paintings were unable to be stolen, so they were still there to find Well, sort of I ve been t [...]

  • This was surprisingly informative for being a Magic Tree House Research Guide It was the base of my Ancient Egypt obsession, providing me with what I needed to learn It s not really about mummies and pyramids than it is about the ancient Egyptian culture and lifestyle It provided kids with an excellent look into a time period somewhat forgotten in history And while there aren t really any specific time periods mentioned, that didn t detract from the quality of the book Most of the times given f [...]

  • Yet another Research Guides in the Magic Tree House series Our girls like these books almost as much as the stories and this one was a particular favorite They ve seen some movies about egypt and the pyramids and they love this topic We really enjoyed reading this book together.

  • At first glance, this book looked far too advanced for my 4 and 6 year old We tried it anyway with great results They already love the characters Annie and Jack from the Magic Treehouse series I think this is a hilarious idea fictional characters narrating a non fiction book We read a few chapters a night It goes pretty quickly, and there are several great pictures I look forward to reading all of these companion books.

  • My son and I read this together while he was learning about ancient Egypt in his history lessons He enjoyed it although he began to lose interest towards the end I thought it was a decent overview of ancient Egypt and a good complement to the lessons we did in Susan Wise Bauer s The Story of the World.

  • this book tells us many things about ancient Egypt and mummies and some gods here are 7 of them RA,OSIRIS,ISIS,HORUS,BASTET,THOTH,and BES.It told about Howard Carter found king tut s mummy, and it talks about the book of the dead and about hieroglyphics. They have some stuff about Egypt and they tell about Egypt today.

  • Read this book in less than an hour I m eMentoring an elementary school student and helping him understand his reading assignment by reading it with him and asking open ended, thoughtful questions about the book Beginner level stuff about Egypt, mummies and pyramids, but I ve always been fascinated by it.

  • This was helpful in explain about Ancient Egypt, especially hieroglyphics, but there was a lot of information that didn t seem very connected to the book and my little one and I both found kinda boring We ended up skimming it than reading word for word because of that Still glad to have it as a companion to the book.

  • I like the Magic tree house research guides better then the actual books Great non fiction read aloud for MGT fans Excellent resources and bibliography included We paired this book with See Inside Ancient Eygpt and the Pyramind Excavation kit from Usborne Books and had a fantastic homeschool theme unit

  • Read as a bedtime book to Jack He enjoyed learning about Mummies and Pyramids, as well as basic information about how people lived in Ancient Egypt This is basic, but it s aimed as a companion book for kids in grades 1 3.

  • A great book for young readers to learn about Ancient Egypt It kept my 6 year olds attention and we finished the whole book A great companion to read with Mummies in the Morning 6 years and up.

  • We read this right after we finished mummies in the morning It s awesome full of educational information but totally kept my 4.5 yr olds attention I really like the easy to understand and appealing way it s written for kids Finished July 17 2014

  • Another collection of research notes from Will Osborne as a companion book to his wife s Magic Tree House series It is of a survey book that skims the surface of the topic This is a good addition to a classroom or school library.

  • Jack ANnie are telling me about mummies and pyramids They wrap people in things that are white and let it harden and put them in mummy cases Then they are mummies And some of them get buried I liked the way the pyramids were built especially the one that was smooth Auryn 7Y o

  • This book is really informative for children Starting from its definition of mummies, the history, the making of pyramid, and even about the tomb robbers There are definitely other topics which are great.

  • This was a good book to read because it was informative on mummies and pyramids I liked how it showed pictures and how accurate the descriptions were I think kids will like it as much as i did.I think this would be a good book to read when talking about Egypt.

  • This book is an excellent companion to the Magic Treehouse book Mummies in the Morning After reading the fantasy book, students can learn even about ancient Egypt by reading this book This series does a great job of getting young readers interested in a variety of genres and topics.

  • If a child is in love with mummies and Egypt, this is a great source to give a child to read This is chalk full with facts and information about all different mummies and pyramids throughout the ages Plus it is Magic Tree House, which kids are known to love as well.
