  • I have mixed feelings about this book There s a ton of health information at the beginning, which was a little surprising to me, as I thought this was mostly going to be a book of recipes I could stash I m always looking for new ideas to make my meals on the weekend and then very little work to do during the week The recipes don t actually start until about 150 pages in.The recipes I did try the chicken broth and the almond bread were both fabulous I took the chicken off the bone as recommended [...]

  • IT S MEAL PLANNING AND YOGA, PEOPLE.They spend 200 pages jizzing themselves over how awesome they are for coming up with such a revolutionary idea Maybe if you ve completely cut yourself off from the health and wellness media world for the past three years this would be revolutionary If not, look elsewhere.

  • Oh dear oh dear, the clean eating bandwagon is getting even worse My bullshit alarm was set off from the first page I randomly flipped to, which was all about how stretching will help to magically heal your gall bladder these aren t typical stretches theyunblockyour qi anduntangleyour fascia The recipes are fine but nothing I would be thrilled to cook a lot of turkey mince a whole chapter of broth recipes, and of course avo toast I guess they are healthy in a pretty boring way so if you do manag [...]

  • Read up to page 75 It was informative and easy to read, but I kept cringing when words like qi were used Feels like a fad diet.

  • Yes, as one reviewer said, this book is about meal planning and yoga to a large extent, HOWEVER, even the most seasoned health nut will find new valuable information here At least that s been my experience with most health books even if not groundbreaking overall, there is always at least one seed of helpful NEW information With this book in particular, it was interesting to learn that not all forms of exercise are optimal for one s health goals, and also to get a new take on familiar broth reci [...]

  • I love Laura Prepon, so I picked this up It s an interesting read, though I m not sure I m completely behind the science basically, the idea is that the liver and gallbladder are critical organs, and most people eat in a way that is injurious to those organs But these are important organs, and even if you aren t with the philosophy behind the plan, the food is very healthy and a lot of the key points in the plan whole grains, avoid GMOs, eat organic are obviously healthy. The plan seems kind of r [...]

  • I m on day 1 of the Stash Plan and so far I really love the philosophy behind this Making stashes of food make it easy and convenient for the subsequent days The ingredients are clean and whole It is very meat heavy and I am transitioning into incorporating grass fed organic meat into my diet, after years of pescatarian eating This book says it is easily adjustable for vegetarians, but the majority of meal plans are meat heavy and it doesn t suggest alternatives It also doesn t tell you how to c [...]

  • I m not sure about all the claims about live and gallbladder and stretching and I certainly don t buy into all GMOs are bad and one should ONLY buy organic however the recipes look solid, easy and delicious the meal plan doesn t look like one would go hungry and with a little adaptation, batch cooking should only need to happen I ve a week instead of twice the food ideas and menu plan is what I am looking for to compliment my eating hopefully it tastes as good as it looks.

  • Points for giving me some new information and clever ideas My health shelf on has 93 titles and that s not counting all the ones I ve touched and skimmed too many Thanks for the book recommendation Michelle.

  • Notes half of the book is nutritional science about the gallbladder and liver broth is the new juice I totally agree but this book has no uses for it except infusing your rice with a little of it I guess you just drink it straight up I mean, no soups or anything recommends raw milk, raw butter, raw eggs and organ meats but no recipes use them recipes are super basic and repetitive beef patties in all sizes, roasted veggies with oil and garlic, and basic rice quinoa noodles Also pot roast, poache [...]

  • This book is down to earth, easy to understand, extremely informative and funny I never expected to learn so much about the crucial importance organs have on weight loss gain but I did learn a bunch by reading this book I ve noticed how Laura s body has changed throughout the last seasons of Orange is the New Black and I certainly cannot wait to start stashing, trying the broths and start stretching

  • This book was only semi useful to me There are some really good looking recipes that I will take away from this book, but that s about it.

  • I swear, this is the first book I ve finished since I ve moved to Balti, and that is some sad stuff But hey, it s been a challenging time with a new husband, new job, new city, blah blah blah I m grateful I was able to finish SOMETHING I saw a promotional event where Laura Prepon was discussing this book, and there was something about it that seemed different than other healthy diet books Prepon and her co author s Elizabeth Troy s approach was vastly different from my usual interest in autoimmu [...]

  • Slight overload of hippie shit, inaccurate portions on provided shopping lists, but all redeemed by some really solid recipes.

  • I m a little biased because Elizabeth Troy is my cousin I read through the book and looked at the recipes, exercises and read about how food works in different organs of the body I can t give it a 5 star review because I haven t actually DONE the plan If you know Laura Prepon from Orange is the New Black and or that 70 s show, you know that these days she is looking very healthy She lost weight and got her energy back One of the most important take aways is chew your food Simple, yet important I [...]

  • Ok folks, we need to lay this out Stash MEAL PREP There is absolutely NOTHING new or revolutionary about this Using meal prep, you can save money, regulate your food intake, and ensure you re meeting all your caloric and dietary needs in a quick and efficient way It s been proven umpteen times that meal prep can help in weight loss and boosting energy, and I know it s helped me drop about 40 lbs in 4 months with a ton of exercise, but still The only thing new about this book is that some of the [...]

  • I feel like this can only be half a review.g as now that I read the book, I actually need to START the stash plan So far I really liked itd it seemed to be full of a lot of great information But I ve heard a lot of reviews against itrhaps because this is a book by yet another Celebrity What qualifies them to write or perhaps there s truth to some reviews Ie Prepon declares that bone broth is the best thing everbut some would say it s full of ledgardless of how organic grass fed it is I already e [...]

  • Bought on a whim, trying to incorporate healthy food choices I don t think this plan is realistic 1 expensive 2 labor intensive when cooking all this in addition to feeding a family 3 odd meals green beans almondine or grass fed sliders for breakfast 4 no fun to eat the same items for every meal, three days in a row, repeatedly and 5 recipes didn t get a final proof and have inconsistent information and some obviously incorrect measurements. That said, there are some awesome recipes that I will [...]

  • Read for Fun Purchased Overall Rating 3.50InstaThoughts I picked this up because I love meal planning and wanted some healthy food prep I could do I don t have a gall bladder so part of the book was lost on me That being said I really liked the look of the recipes and that they walked people through the prep The menu that they have for each week is detailed with what to pick up and how to cook it That was brilliantly done I also loved the broth recipes beef broth rocks it is the only one that I [...]

  • I am very excited to be starting this plan This book is packed full of information about healthy living I have only made 1 stash so far but it was relatively easy to make which is saying something since I don t usually cook and the food has been delicious My only problem is that some of the ingredients I was unable to find at my local Wegmans such as purple rice and quinoa noodles and since you are buying food twice a week, it gets a little expensive However, the I do it I think the I can twea [...]

  • Loved Laura, so was interested as to the unique type of book she chose to release While the bone broth diet seemed interesting and worth a try for a bit to detox , it doesn t seem sustainable for someone who doesn t have the time resources to keep it up to the level that it should be non GMO, organic, etc While I definitely think it s worth a shot especially if you re in a situation where you ll try anything to feel healthier and fitter I won t be running out to make my own bone broth tomorrow.

  • Wonderful recommendations on the types of food to eat, great recipes and a practical plan for a single person on how to prepare food for the week shopping for the entire week with two meal prep sessions I suppose a couple could double the recipes, but this plan is not the least bit practical for anyone with a family of than 2 people However, I may incorporate some of these ideas into snack and lunch making for myself.

  • Well I am totally reading ALL food labels now And I better understand how in sync my gall bladder and Liver need to be I found this very informative book written in a very relatable and easy manner No fancy talk trying to sell me anything else Just educating me about foods in relation to these organs in a way I can understand and a plan that seems doable.

  • I dunno, this book has a very pseudo science feel to it Not being an expert in food science or nutrition myself, I can only scoff on that hunch I stopped reading after it was suggested by Prepon that I should chew every bite fifty times before swallowing to maximize nutritional pull Seems like another fad diet.

  • Interesting ideas Lots of yummy looking recipes There was a lot of dense information at the beginning of the book explaining the reason behind the method The stash plans are thought out and easy to prepare they take the guess work out of it However, I would have liked some explanation on how to create individualized stashes and how to incorporate foods that weren t given as examples.

  • Started out strong but didn t provide vegetarian protein options in the sample stashes and also did not provide guidance on how to make this work after the 21 days and in real life other than saying that it is ok to indulge in other foods from time to time I would have liked information on those aspects.
