  • In many ways, The Seven Year Itch doesn t conform to the spy story standard For starters, its lead JJ McCall is female and African American A Summa Cum Laude graduate of Howard University and tops in her Quantico Class, she is one of the FBI s best and brightest field agents But what also takes things off the beaten path is that McCall reaches a point that few debut characters in the genre reach early on that is, burnout Years of being passed over for promotions and having to compete with less t [...]

  • What do you do after you read an excellently written, intricately woven novel that entertains you on a level you didn t know existed You tell everybody about that novel because it would be wrong to keep that type of treasure all to yourself The Seven Year Itch by S.D Skye, chronicles the adventures of a F.B.I Agent named J.J McCall Her super power or super weakness is the ability to detect lies by an itching sensation in her skin The bigger the lie, the harder the itch Her power is helpful for h [...]

  • Originally posted at longandshortreviews boKudos to S.D Skye for a debut novel that introduces a unique character into the ranks of thriller heroines J.J McCall who is cursed with a generational curse at the age of seven, she became able to tell when someone was lying to her she starts to itch. This novel is full of interesting characters There s her ex Black Panther father who thinks she needs to settle down with a good black man and her brother, who is a police officer and gives her a helping h [...]

  • Pulling StringsJ.J McCall is a second generation FBI agent Her mother, Naomi, served under the Hoover administration, when the Black Panthers were thought to be detrimental to the USA Ten years in, working in the espionage unit, J.J is still fighting to break the glass ceiling As an African American woman in the agency, despite her success, she has yet to move through the ranks No thanks to her racist immediate supervisor, Jack Sabinski.J.J and her co case agent, Tony Donato, for three years hav [...]

  • Review originally appeared on Nightstand NovelsJJ McCall, one of the FBI s best and brightest recruiters is laden with the task of finding out who is targeting her Russian spies With the recent loss of two recruits and a third, her most valuable, missing guilt is starting to set in, not to mention the stresses of the job Passed over yet again for a promotion in lieu of a less qualified applicant, she s ready to throw in the towel and resign She s made promises but in order to keep them, she has [...]

  • The Seven Year Itch is a good spy story FBI Agent JJ, who is cursed or blessed, depending on how you look at it, with an interesting twist on how to detect liars, must use all her skills to discover who killed two of her spies and who is selling the United States secrets.Sure that there is a mole in the FBI, JJ and her partner Tony, have to figure out who it is before all their hard work is destroyed and people die JJ manages to turn another Russian to be their informant and who is also willing [...]

  • JJ McCall is one of a kind, brilliant and expedient I imagine her partner Tony Dosanto is one gorgeous man as well The two of them together can solve any Russian spy espionage SD Skye is an excellent author I didn t understand much of her terms but I understood the theory of the story Can t wait to see what happens with her and her former lover Sixx Betrayal, espionage, frustration, gruesome murder Riveting and spellbound.

  • I applaud Skye for introducing a convincing Black female protagonist into a spy novel, but I just didn t want to keep going back to this story For me there was too much of What you thought you knew was not really true And the main plot line moved too slowly for me I invoked my son Mike s 100 page rule That is, if the story has not captured you by page 100, close it up and put it away.

  • The Bigot List by S.D Skye To start with, I now know about undercover work, spies, moles, and other animals That doesn t say that I didn t enjoy the book I m just saying Anyway, there is a mole, but no one even knows which major department CIA, FBI, NSA, DNA the mole works with On the other hand, you have J.J and Tony who are than on the job I did enjoy this book and recommend it for those who like the behind the scenes action AND J.J s allergy attacks.
