  • There is a MURDER on The Enterprise dun dun dunnnn So Worf and Troi must investigate I have to say it was a pretty good novel, and it actually used Troi in a meaningful way I didn t figure out who actually did it until 20 pages from the end but you might be quicker than me.

  • I don t know whether to blame the writer and or the editor, but this book has some significant issues in adequately portraying the characters and technology of TNG The base story is fine though it s pretty much a bottle episode which is pretty odd for a novel , but it s a standard murder mystery There s not even a B plot But I was so distracted by the inaccuracies which could have been easily fixed without affecting the story , I can t really recommend it Even though it s a rare Troi Worf buddy [...]

  • A good solid mystery story taking place on the Enterprise with Deanna Troi and Worf being focused on as the main characters The writer seemed to know his characters well enough to portray them as we know them from the show.My only bugaboo no fingerprints were checked for on a piece of evidence that was found at the murder scene Huh We re in a very far future, and yet fingerprints, one of the oldest methods used in detection was not even considered

  • Murder, he growled Sort of A fun read, it isn t often one gets to investigate murder in ST Worf was completely irresponsible though, asking an underage acting ensign to hang out with a suspect Majorly irresponsible Was fun seeing him and Deanna work together, however, that didn t happen often until S6 or so Beauty and the Beast , to quote Marina Sirtis

  • I probably would give it a 3.5 stars if I could I did enjoy the book and it definitely did a better job of building the mystery as opposed to Fortune s Light I can t say I REALLY liked it but I did enjoy it.

  • I wanted this book to be better, but I had to force myself to read through it to find out who the killer was.

  • um, this was bad Not charmingly, kitchily bad, but unbelievable plot, poorly written characters and disregard of established Star Trek mythology bad The murder mystery plot is thin and amateurish, but the real problem is that the characters act in ways not in keeping with their characters on the show No technology is used in the inept investigation of the crimes not even today s world technology So why two stars I did keep reading to find out if the obvious non suspect was the killer, and becaus [...]

  • Ohhhhh I don t know what to do with this book To be summed up in one thought, this book is the Star Trek TNG version of a whodunnit I must say, I was disappointed the author made the ending particularly obvious to me anyhow but it was still a nice mindless read Definitely not one I d throw at people, but it s alright if you re in the mood for a Sherlock Holmes Star Trek style beore anyone murders me, the writing isn t nearly as amazing as Sir C.D nor is Worf as good as Sherlock But hey, he tries [...]

  • This was a favorite book when I was in middle school A murder mystery set on the Enterprise with Counselor Troi and Worf as investigators I remember being very impressed by John Vornholt s writing when I was younger, and indeed, this wasn t a bad book He works well with the characters and writes a book that seems like it could almost be an episode, but now that I m older, I have to admit that it s not the best.Still, for what it is, it s pretty good.

  • I found myself thinking about things other than a typical murder mystery plot The USS Enterprise NCC 1701 D is big We are introduced to parts of the ship that even some of the characters muse they have never visited Groups of people work and live on the ship that have never visited the bridge as a reader often does in Star Trek I will have a much better appreciation in future of what is at stake the next time an Enterprise goes into battle or is crippled by some natural phenomenon.

  • It was poorly written, a bit melodramatic too many adjectives and too stiff at times The plot and conclusion was predictable The characters were inconsistent with their television counterparts On the whole, I was unimpressed and do not recommend this book.

  • The plot of Contamination, started out very quickly, which was nice I never figured out who the murderer was, though I probably should have A quite enjoyable and short Next Generation novel.4 stars

  • Didn t enjoy this one The characters personalities didn t fit with theirs from the show not very well written.

  • I read all these Next Generation books in middle school early high school Even then I thought most of them were pretty bad But I m a completist so they must be included in my book list

  • Its Agatha Christie in space this story Two people are murdered and Troi and Worf need to find who did it and why A nice and simple story, actually enjoyed it.

  • A fun book Worf and Troi have to solve a murder This shows th differences and similairities between these two characters well It reads like a TV show, a decent read.

  • I ve been a TNG fan since grade school i ve read many of the companion books over the years This was a fun one primarily featuring Worf Troi.

  • Very well written I kept trying to figure out who the murderer was and I was wrong on all accounts Plot kept moving along at a good pace Good job Mr Vornholt

  • I really enjoyed this Star Trek novel I love whodunit mysteries and this was well done It was a bit of a disappointment Data and Riker where not in it.

  • A brilliant mystery, set aboard the Starship Enterprise Although it took some bending of the general view of the Federation, Vornholt has written an engaging legal thriller.

  • This is basically an Agatha Christie style whodunit set in the Star Trek realm If you don t guess who the murderer is as soon as the character is introduced, you haven t read enough mysteries.
