  • This gets, and thoroughly merits, a resounding four stars When I first started reading it I thought it was going to be formulaic but it sidesteps that quite neatly. On the downside, some of the motivation didn t quite ring true to me, and we know pretty early on which boy will get the girl For all that there are absorbing storylines and I enjoyed the book.

  • Received from author for an honest review.Nautical MilesN L La FoilleWow What a ride NAUTICAL MILES took me on one heck of an emotional roller coaster ride Rachel Starling is captured by pirates and her old life has her mourning very quickly Once I started this wonderful tale, I couldn t put it down I felt instantly like I was on the ship with Rachel dodging the nasty pirates and swooning for Graham I ve never read N L LaFoille before but I m so thrilled that I gave NAUTICAL MILES a chance This [...]

  • I truly enjoyed this adventurous tale, and the toned down romance Don t get me wrong, I always love some romance, but the fact this tale centered on the growth of Rachel as a character and her trials and separations, was gripping and engaging in an all new way I was constantly surprised by the action unfolding, and the author s lovely and through descriptions of the settings, the battle scenes, etc I could really visualize everything in my mind, which made this all the enjoyable I found that w [...]

  • Author exchange for honest reviewI thought I knew what I was getting into when I read the description of Nautical Miles, but I was surprised by the journey I was taken on.In the interest of full disclosure, romance is not my go to genre when reading a book, but I do still enjoy romance novels from time to time When I first started reading the book, I was a little confused at such an abrupt beginning, but as I read further on the details started becoming clearer I rapidly became impressed with th [...]

  • I was quickly drawn into the story and had that lovely sensation of being part of the main character s world my own surroundings drifting into the background and the rough life and leery clientele of barmaid, Rachel, seeming vividly real The arrival of the grotesque villain, Mr Haines, is inevitable and it is with great anticipation that Capt Levy and his first mate, the delicious Graham, are introduced as Rachel s second abductors I love the pace of this story, with constant action and intrigue [...]

  • What An Adventure This story is filled with so much action Seriously, every girl will want to be kidnapped by pirates after reading this tale I was drawn in from the very beginning and could not put it down And just when I thought things were smooth sailing, BAM something major happens and I was on another adventure Sword fights, pirates, bad guys, and one very feisty young lady What a thrill

  • I loved this book By Dinghy Doctor The Dingy Doctor says, LaFoille has written a fun book about women, love, pirates, relationships, the sea, and great ships Basically a romance book this story has plenty of ship lore and pirate stuff to make it good reading for the men as well as the women Nautical Miles comes within a hair breadth of being a classic and I agree
