  • read this book last year, but just re read it because the third in the series was released I was not leaving reviews last year so thought I would add one now Upon rereading I relised how simply lovely this series is apart from the wierd King in the first book, thankfully his kind do not appear in this one or the next This time around Elizabeth and Simon travel back in time to San Fransisco Without giving away anything basically mishaps and misunderstandings occur, but ultimately a wonderful adve [...]

  • I was really looking forward to this sequel to Out of Time OoT was one of my favorite reads this year I was quite taken with Elizabeth and Simon and their time traveling adventures in the first book I liked that OoT had a paranormal albeit a little silly twist to the romance and adventure, and I expected the same in When the Walls Fell.WtWF is romantic but I felt that romance didn t really progress from the first book The declaration of love was in Out in When we have an abundance of loving reaf [...]

  • I d give it a six if I could.First let me say that I thought Out of Time was a great book When the Walls Fell is even better Honestly.Even though we got to spend a lot of time with Elizabeth in OoT, I feel like this book showed us her character even Loved the time period, loved the supporting cast, loved the train of surprise that ran over me on a couple of occasions I loved it all.Even the smallest of characters were given enough life that I can still see their image in my mind Ms Martin did a [...]

  • Thoroughly enjoyed this follow up to Out of Time This time sees Elizabeth travelling back to 1907 San Franscisco barely a week before the big earthquake hits following on behind her Simon settles in to finding her and helping her out of whatever trouble she s got herself into this time There were some really good characters here and some that became hardly than a cypher, Mary Graham was one as was Stryker However, this didn t detract from my enjoyment of the book, and I will look out for in th [...]

  • I learned a long time ago that life is vastly interesting when you say yes to it This is the second installment of the Out of Time series, and despite having read it last year I remembered literally nothing of the plot Martin manages to quickly and efficiently recap what happened in New York during the first book, which is something I greatly appreciate no one likes to read a pages long recap of a book you have already read In this book, Simon and Elizabeth travel back to 1906 San Francisco rig [...]

  • I m a sucker for time travel, so a book employing that plot device has to be horribly written for me to give it a bad review These are just lovely to read The plots are a bit predictable, but there is some merit in reading formulaic writing Sometimes you just want to read a story where you love the main characters, you KNOW they re going to get into some dicey trouble, you KNOW they re almost going to lose their lives, but you ALSO know that they will survive it I call these kinds of books comfo [...]

  • I didn t enjoy this book as much as the first one in the series I felt as if the romance between Elizabeth and Simon had lost some of it s steam The beginning had their argument concerning time travel, but nothing special after that The medium, Madame Petrovka, was a nice twist, and could have been played up a bit The paranormal was a big part of the first book, and could have improved the story in the second book There were some additional characters that added some interest to the book, such [...]

  • 3.5 StarsSecond book still read pretty dry but it held a bit oomph than book one Simon is still all hoity toity but it didn t come across as him looking down on others, the way it did in book one Elizabeth is still a zany character, though extremely gullible and super stubborn I m wondering why is it that every man she comes across falls either in love or lust with her Her description sounds lovely but not all that to have a string of men falling over themselves for her

  • When the Walls Fell Out of Time noSecond installment of the time travel series finds our heroes in San Francisco just before the big earthquake with only days to prevent a murder Again they become involved with people in that time period and have mixed emotions about what to do Good stuff.

  • I was a little disappointed there really wasn t a true supernatural twist on this one The writing was much relaxed than the first book Going back to the San Francisco earthquake was a great starting point I loved Gerald, Teddy, Lillian, and Max Just not quite my cup of tea The duo needs to get married.

  • I am obsessed with this trilogy Ms Martin has done an exhaustive research on the topic and the eras, and it shows With elegant style and superb dominion of the storytelling she involve you in the story To the point where you d feel a wee bit tire after the characters return to their own timeline.

  • 4 1 2 starsWe catch up with Simon and Elizabeth a few months after they return from New York where they are semi living with each other and very much in love Once again they will be transported back in time, this time to San Francisco a few days before the great earthquake Charged with the deed of preventing the death of a member of the council, Simon and Elizabeth once again meet a number of colorful characters and get into and out of trouble.Ms Martin once again takes us off in a grand adventu [...]

  • Argh, I want to love this book I still love the characters I do But the you are mine thing is getting really old really fast Yes, we get it you are damaged from a messed up familySTOP It also drives me insane that they keep secrets from each other constantlyat cannot make for a healthy normal relationship Anyways, this was an interesting story We are sent back to the early 1900 s, right before the great San Fransisco earth quake As usual Simon is being a prat and Elizabeth is well Elizabeth She [...]

  • Wow This sequel really sucks you into the vortex of time travel Things are rocky with Simon and Elizabeth Real life has made them have to deal with the reality of building a relationship At the start, things seem rocky But a new problem brought up by the Council has them traveling back in time to Victorian Edwardian San Francisco When else, but just before the 1906 earthquake I enjoy the events that always lead these two into the society of the time They have connections this journey, complete w [...]

  • I really likes this book It was a good addition to the Out of Time series and it was good to see Simon and Elizabeth again. This book brings us a few months past the last book and Elizabeth and Simon are doing fine, but you can immediately sense an undercurrent of tension You find out why soon and that fight cause a rift in their relationship that ends with Elizabeth going into the past on her own.But have no fear, Simon isn t far behind and then the two of them are on the chase to save a man who [...]

  • After being disappointed by book 1, I had no interest in number 2 mostly because of how dumb the adding vampires to book 1 was This book ended up being marked down for the Kindle, so I gave in and bought it.It was much better than book 1, but there is something about the writing that just doesn t flow as well as I d like Not sure if some of it is the weird analogies sometimes mentioned Not all make sense, and sometimes feels like the author got side tracked from the story And acts like she s try [...]

  • This second outing in the series from Monique Martin doesn t disappoint and was another whirlwind adventure in time travel and romance This time, Elizabeth always quick to act and wonderfully willing to throw herself headlong into adventure has travelled in time to 1906 San Francisco, just a few days before the devastating earthquake Simon who has warned Elizabeth about time travel and being involved with the Council which he doesn t trust is suitably horrified to discover she has travelled back [...]

  • In When the Walls Fell they go back in time to 1906 San Francisco, CA days before the great earthquake to save Simon from possibly never existing I ve never been to California, and to be honest the most I know about their history is what I ve watched in Briscoe County Jr but I thought Monique did a good job of describing the environment and fashion The romance between Simon and Elizabeth was just as intense and beautiful as before and the mystery kept me guessing I liked that she has the charact [...]

  • I really enjoyed this book Once again, I love the time period I also loved all the new characters This book was much better than the first The first was good, but just a little too cheesy for my taste, and I didn t like all the cliches I also felt there was something lacking that this book definitely made up for The reason why this book doesn t get five stars is because there were so many typos There were typos in the last book, but this one just had too many Other than that, I still plan on con [...]

  • The sequel to Out of Time , another fun time travel book This one took place in turn of the century San Fransisco, not long after the gold rush when San Fran was a booming, filthy rich, lavish town This one was quite short, did not take me long to read Her writing seems to be pretty fast paced which I enjoy And the story was quite thrilling, and kept you wondering what was going to happen next These books combine time travel, history, paranormal, and corny romance I could do without the corny ro [...]

  • I think I liked this book even than the first, although the ending just ended too quickly for me and I wasn t too happy with Elizabeth s solution to you know who It seemed overly cruel and possibly counterproductive Couldn t history repeat itself again Anyway, I love this authors writing style Her characters are well developed and the witty repartee makes me laugh out loud often Teddy is quite possibly my favorite character ever The only issue I have is some of the issues and problems faced in [...]

  • I m not sure how this book got on my Kindle, but I m glad it did I haven t read the first book in the series, but I felt comfortable meeting the characters here for the first time There was just enough of the back story to let me know what was going on and not feel like an outsider I found the writing compelling and the story well paced I enjoyed the plot twists and turns and was pleased that the main character was able to engage her brain to solve problems that would baffle many Looking forward [...]

  • I enjoyed reuniting with this series because I like the two main characters and this story introduced some interesting and worthy characters too However I don t think there was enough clarity to the mystery as to why or how the time was being manipulated in that it was left for me to speculate the villain was Madame and her reasoning was revenge and madness The story also ends as they are feeling the affects of time travel back to their present time and I, for one, am unsure whether 3 will find [...]

  • I loved it It could stand alone but if you read 1 first, it would really help The story focuses on the days just before the great earthquake in San Francisco in 1906 I think the author could have played up the fact that Simon and Elizabeth knew what was going to happen a bit There were quite a few characters introduced but only about 5 key characters besides Simon and Elizabeth There were lots of plot twists and turns, and the author keeps you guessing until the end Fast paced, exciting, and ea [...]

  • I really like this series So far this one was better than the first one Out of Time regardless I really like both Elizabeth and Simon Simon reminds me of The Doctor several different versions of him so he is most definitely a great hero I think he showed definite growth in this book I really liked Teddy s character in this one and Elizabeth and all her pop culture references crack me up An easy light and entertaining read I look forward to reading the rest in the series so far with another due o [...]

  • I liked this book better than the first one There was a to this one, a purpose to work towards other than an accidental journey through time I loved the descriptions of San Francisco and the Great Earthquake I got a better feeling for the time frame and the descriptions of the atmosphere and clothing made it easier to visualize The characters were great, I just loved Lillian, Max, Gerald and Teddy It was sad to see them go Can t wait for adventures with Simon and Elizabeth.

  • When I first started reading this series I thought it was The Time Walkers series I could not have stumbled into a better set of books I totally fell in love with Simon Elizabeth in book 1 and book 2 sealed the deal Just goes to show you that love happens when you lest expect it and this book gives it to us in spades Book 2 also introduces us to a couple of new characters who turn out to be pretty Important in the end Loved meeting Teddy and hope he will make an appearance in a future book.

  • Im doneIts not that I didn t like the actual story, I do, its all the he loves her than life over and over again and he s her everything that has turned me off to the rest of the books And the on again off again relationship makes me nauseous, I mean I don t mind a few I love yous and a bit of a sex scene but over and over and over I just a bit much On to find something less irritating to read.
